knOwhere®
EVENTS
are unique co-designed interactive sessions designed
by the client sponsor team and knOwhere facilitators, and
knowledge workers. The sponsor team is composed of
clients and, at times, outside experts and customers. knOwhere
provides the Process Facilitator, who acts as a project manager,
the Lead Facilitator, and knowledge worker team. Prior to
the event, knOwhere begins the co-design process by hosting
a sponsor session. Together, the team identifies the problems,
the goals, and objectives for the session. We strategically
select participants, determine logistics, and begin to design
the event process.
CO-DESIGN
IS BUILT on
mutual respect, energy, and complementary talents.
Together we tailor a design event that enables participants
to grow beyond current possibilities. Throughout the process
knOwhere acts as the catalyst for change and creativity. During
sessions, the facilitation team evolves and adapts to the
requirements of the client's work. Facilitators bring the
unexpected together, accomplishing what we call "making the
familiar strange and the strange familiar". The facilitators
think systematically and act tactically, while always demanding
higher-order solutions. knOwhere staff is specialized in challenging
conventional wisdom from a strong, multi-disciplined knowledge
base. Knowledge workers bring "just-in-time information",
helping to re-frame and manage the shifts from one idea to
another. Transformation and breakthrough is a function of
the entire team; the clients, the facilitators, the knowledge
workers, and the participants.
THE
ROLE OF A KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT FIRM
is to transfer its methods and models to its clients; enabling
organizations to develop their own knowledge capital.
In essence, the role of the knowledge management firm is to
make its own services extinct in the marketplace. The knOwhere
transfer model is much different than most traditional consulting
companies. knOwhere does not supplement or substitute for
a firm's core competency, for specific engagement periods.

OUR
GOAL IS TO CO-DESIGN A KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM,
integrating our methods in existing client systems, and then
transferring the intellectual property and capability to our
clients over time. Aligning with knOwhere's mission, this
transfer model allows corporations to unify and to own their
identity. And when an organization does choose to outsource
and sub-contract, the organization has the ability to document
the outside information, and warehouse it as knowledge and
capital. The knOwhere processes, tools, and environments are
transferable and adaptable, providing organizations with new
models of creative thinking and synergy, and an in-house capability
to grow knowledge capital.

The
facilitation Krew is like a professional theater
company. The facilitator is a business consultant
conducting a multi-disciplinary team
-
of artists converting ideas into models and mapping
the group's evolving strategy,
- of
writers transcribing and synthesizing material for
journals, knowledge objects, and executive summaries
and stories - in essence, creating the corporate
memory,
- of
stage managers running video cameras and modifying
the environment to create a multi-media, knowledge
rich experience,
- and
of front of the room facilitators, the guides driving
event participants through multiple cycles of work
modules with the context and experience.
